What is Cocos?
Coco's is a 501c3 non-profit, committed to babies, kids, teens, and expectant parents!! Our mission is to provide all youth, ages 0 to 18, free clothes. Regardless of gender affiliation, race, religion, financial status, etc. No need to provide a voucher, or proof of need. This service is offered to families located in the twin cities and surrounding areas. We also offer maternity clothing for expectant parents (the only exception to our “age” rule).
So, how does Cocos work?
The caretaker, or recipient, may place an order with us in the "Order Here!" section of our site. They will answer our questionnaire, letting us know what size, style, and items that the interested party would like to receive. Once we receive your “order”, one of our devoted Cocos volunteers will put together a box. The box will include several new outfits for the recipient. While we prefer that you “trade” us your old clothes for new ones (clothing donations are what make all of this possible!); you do not have to donate to receive, and you do not have to receive to donate. You may also place “orders” for multiple children, as long as all orders are for children in your care. To clarify, you cannot place orders for friends, neighbors, extended family etc. Caretakers/recipients must place their own “orders”.
How often may I order from Cocos?
Coco's allows each family to place orders twice per year, per child. Typically, people place orders for spring/summer, then again for fall/winter. You may order whenever you like and do not have to space your orders out in this manner. The only exception to this rule; if the box you receive does not fit or work. In that case, you contact us, and we create a new box for you, then swap them out as soon as we are able.
I want to donate to Cocos! What kids’ items do you accept?
We accept lightly used clothing (sized newborn through adult 3x), shoes (all sizes infant to adult), winter gear (Jackets, snow pants, hats, gloves), and maternity clothing! We do not currently accept baby items such as cribs, swings, and playmats. If you have a larger baby item, you may post it on the "Friends of Coco's Clothing Swap" Facebook page. And although we don’t accept those baby items listed, we always have people asking. Cocos would be happy to connect you with someone that is seeking those items. As always, we ask that all items offered are free, and not for profit.
What is your EIN number for my taxes?

I don’t have any kids clothing, but I have my own adult clothes. Can I donate those?
Yes! We will even take business professional clothes that you no longer wear! Your “grown up" clothes will go to growing teens. Professional items are given to teens as they prepare for job interviews, college interviews, and other occasions where professional attire is warranted.
I’ve placed my order, and Cocos has contacted me saying it’s ready! Now what?
Coco's takes pride in the fact that we go above and beyond for you! We offer Donation delivery several times a month, in the twin cities and bordering suburbs (dependent on cash and gift card donations). If you are unable to wait for delivery day, you may pick up your order in Mahtomedi at any time.
I love what Cocos is doing! How can I help?
Coco's loves volunteers! We need volunteers to help sort items, put together orders, pick up donations, drop off orders, and take inventory. If you are interested in volunteering, check out the "volunteer!" section of our site or contact Courtney at CourtneyC@cocosclothingswap.com
How long will it take for my order to be ready?
This depends on inventory. If we have the size that was ordered in stock, turnover time is usually about 2-3 weeks. If you order a size that we do not have in stock, we take the time to seek that size out. This can take longer, sometimes up to a couple weeks. The more we have in stock, the less time the order will take.
